Oil is an indispensable part of diesel generator set, which plays the role of leakage prevention, rust prevention and corrosion prevention, lubrication and so on. Timely replacement of oil can ensure the stable operation of the generator set.

1. Check the oil level often. The check should be carried out before the diesel engine starts or after 10min of shutdown, and the oil level should be checked again after 10min. When adding oil, strict attention should be paid to cleaning and checking whether there is leakage.

2, often check the quality of the oil. When checking the oil level, attention should be paid to checking the pollution of the oil. The oil on the oil gauge should not be discolored (except for the phenomenon of the oil turning black). When the oil reaches the used interval mileage or reaches the oil change index, the oil should be replaced in time. Multistage oil is easy to turn black when used, which is a normal phenomenon. The common methods for checking the quality of oil are: oil trace comparison, viscosity comparison test and assay.

3, timely change the oil, although the oil has a specified oil change cycle. But because the diesel engine wear degree is different, the oil quality is different, coupled with the different region, climate and operating conditions, will affect the oil replacement cycle. Early replacement causes waste, and late replacement will cause other accidents of diesel generators due to oil aging.

4, choose the right oil. Suitable oil is an important factor to ensure the normal operation of diesel generator, and also a fundamental guarantee to extend the service life of oil. In the actual work should be in accordance with the following requirements to choose oil.

Gasoline engine oil is strictly prohibited for diesel engines. The engine oil may be substituted or used in the designated grades only if the diesel engine manufacturer has an alternative specification or is labeled as a common oil for gasoline generators and diesel generators. On the premise of ensuring reliable lubrication of diesel engine, oil viscosity should be as small as possible. In addition to the use of large viscosity oil in the southern summer, only suitable for some serious wear diesel generators. High viscosity oil will make the diesel engine running resistance increases, resulting in increased fuel consumption. The selection of oil viscosity is too low, and may make the oil pressure is too low, the lubricating oil film strength is not enough, the seal is not strict. So according to the diesel generator conditions, season to choose the correct oil.

Adhere to the principle of economic applicability. Excessive downgrading of higher oils is uneconomical, and the use of lower grade oils in higher requirements of diesel generators can cause early wear and damage to diesel generators.

Multigrade oils should be used whenever possible. The multi-stage oil has good viscosity and temperature performance. It can be used in diesel engine for a long time, save fuel, and be used in four seasons, which is easy to manage. When using multistage oil, oil color is easy to turn black, oil pressure is smaller than ordinary oil, these are normal phenomena, do not affect the use of. About oil mixing. Do not mix single-grade oil with multigrade oil; Different brands of oil can be temporarily mixed when necessary, but do not mix for a long time.

5, avoid oil temperature is too high and oxidation deterioration. Ensure that the cooling system of water cooled diesel engine is in good working condition and avoid overheating. When the cooling system abnormal, should be timely check and eliminate; Ensure the crankcase ventilation device working condition is good, regularly clean the ventilation pipe, ventilation valve; Keep the oil temperature in the range of 85~95C.

6. Clean it well. Prevent dust and impurities from entering the lubrication system; Change the oil filter regularly; Clean the lubrication system completely and change the oil regularly; Check whether the oil is mixed with water; Replace or add oil should also prevent rain, snow or other into the dirt oil; When the cylinder head, body cracks, cylinder liner sealing ring aging failure or cylinder pad washed out, should be timely maintenance; When removing the cylinder head, be sure to drain the water first to prevent water flow into the oil pan.

7. Avoid diesel oil flowing into oil. When the oil supply of diesel fuel injection pump is too large, the oil supply pressure is too low, or the oil injector drops and atomizes poorly, the diesel fuel in the injection cylinder will not be fully burned, and part of it will flow into the oil pan along the cylinder wall, causing the oil to become thinner, the viscosity to decline, and the lubrication effect to be lost prematurely. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check or adjust the fuel injection pump and injector, and timely replace the excessive wear plunger, oil outlet valve and nozzle parts.

8. Avoid the erosion of oil by exhaust gas in the cylinder. When the clearance between piston and cylinder liner, valve and valve duct is too large, the high temperature and high pressure exhaust gas in the combustion chamber will channeled into the crankcase, accelerate the aging and deterioration of oil, and form gum, carbon and acid harmful substances. Therefore, it is necessary to replace the above matching parts with excessive wear in time, restore their normal matching gap, and maintain good sealing effect.
